This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Snowtime projects

I've been on a track to get a new bike project completed this winter. After upgrading my city ride last year,I have this neat Raliegh Grand Prix frame

and a couple boxes full of parts with which to play.
My son could use a faster lighter"roadie"type thing since he is riding his Jamis Commuter more and more. I want to rebuild the Raliegh for him, but I have to solve the color problem. My son is a would be "emo type" of college student for whom black is the only option. I'll have to tear it all down and replace a few parts, but I want to powdercoat it, and I want to protect this neat original headbadge.

The only solution is to remove the rivets and the badge, replacing it with glue once the powdercoat is done.
Wish me luck, I've procrastinated long enough and hope I don't ruin the badge.
