This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

What happened to winter?

Everything I have said about winter riding is being washed away.  50 degrees and raining on New Years Eve, in Michigan!   What is the world coming to?   One might blame global warming but the scientists I've read say that climate change has little or nothing to do with local weather events, but who then can we blame.  The first year I buy studded snow tires and Al Gore has to change everything to justify his prize.  It must be him, he had the power to create the internet, now he is destroying ski season--heartless, selfish bastard!
