This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel,obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Slowly getting back to normal.

 The Kalamazoo Bicycle Club is holding Bike Camp again this year


Bike Camp is an award-winning educational and training program for beginning cyclists and those who wish to improve their skills and experience.   Designed for adults and minors, 12 and up, Bike Camp will be held the first two weekends in May.  Orientation will be Thursday May 5th, 6:30-8:30 PM at the Portage Senior Center at 320 Library Lane in Portage, MI.  Classroom sessions and ride instruction will be Saturdays May 7th and 14th from 8:30-noon also at the Portage Senior Center.  Instructors certified by the League of American Bicyclists conduct training sessions.

Additional group rides will be held the following Monday evenings May 9th and 16th at 5:45PM  beginning from Texas Drive Park 6603 Texas Dr.  There will be qualified leaders to accommodate cyclists riding a variety of speeds and distances.

The registration fee for Bike Camp is $70 for individuals and $85 for families before May 1st, after May 1st fees are $85 and $100 dollars respectively.   Registration includes one year membership to the Kalamazoo Bike Club, entry in Kaltour June 26th and invitation to the Club’s 50 year anniversary celebration May 26th.
