This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Almost Joyous Springtime!!

There is nothing quite like a March snowstorm.  The ones that bring that wet snow behind a driven wind to coat every branch and twig on the  barren trees.  It helps moisten the wind swept tiny buds which will blossom into leaves as the the sunlight creeps ever nearer while the northern hemisphere slouches toward....I dunno, some goddamn thing that makes sense.
That's as positive a spin as I can put on this shit.
I woke up to piss at 3 am, looked out the window and saw nothing except wet pavement and went back to sleep knowing we had avoided a springtime storm.  I woke up again at 5 am to over 8 inches on the ground and the whole world sucked!  Trees toppled, power lines were crackling ominously in the street, nobody could go anywhere.  It was a total mess, businesses and schools closed all over the place, at this rate the High School seniors will be attending college orientation before they get their diplomas, and I found out that plastic valve covers have a purpose.
You know, we ignore them, cast them aside as a useless relic from the time we needed to protect the vulnerable schraeder valves.  Presta valves are cool, everything is outside,  easy to forget the protective covering until this winter and all the slop has the damn thing corroded into  place and I can't check the inflation of the rear tire without surgically removing the valve from the stem.  I am done! Winter needs to go to Argentina or New Zealand or wherever in the hell it goes from here!

  2. We definitely took care of that for you. We have had more than 3 meters of snowfall this season. About 50% more than normal, enough is enough already.
