This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Mall Cops

I rarely would be one to criticize somebody's intelligence.
It's not their fault and some people just need more help understanding.
Yesterday I stopped at the mall after a teaching assignment.
I lashed the mammoth to a trash can near the front door
because the bike rack had been surrounded by 4' walls of snow.
There is no way it was safe to try to navigate over the snow banks to the bike rack with a bike.
The guy who did must have been related to the
moronic mall cop who left a notice on my bike
warning me to park at the bike racks and not near an entrance.
Like I said, I don't criticize anybody's lack of intelligence,
but it seems common sense has become so rare
it will have to be classified as a super power!
