This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Traffic is slowly returning.

I'm going to miss this.  Not the obvious urban ugliness and sprawl we live in.  Most people don't notice how horribly ugly our business areas have become because they drive past so quickly.  Ironically, the business owners protest making the streets more attractive, maintaining they will lose business by increasing non motorized traffic.  Do they think somebody driving past at 40 miles an hour even sees their business?
I digress.  What I will actually miss is riding the sidewalk safely.  The businesses are beginning to open as we gain control over the rate of COVID infection.  Soon the driveways will be dangerous and taking a short cut on the sidewalk will again be a life threatening exercise.
On the other hand, it's construction season.  Some of our busiest roads have  "pop-
up" bike lanes to help us out now.  People are getting back to outside work here in Michigan and some of the potholes will even be fixed, that will be a treat.
