This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Big Chain Ring Day!

Labour Day weekend the weather promises to be perfect.   I couldn't stay in so I threw the gear on The Hunq and took off. The wind was from the north east and I headed to the lake. It was an intoxicating afternoon riding 60 pure so miles through the vineyards and orchards reaching their peak. The campground I reached was (surprise) full.  No big deal. I just pedaled at random down a road I'd never seen and found a stand of trees behind an old church to keep me for the night.
