This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

It maybe has begun, that is if things work out ok.

The difference a few days can make.
It wasn't long ago there wasn't enough road to see.

We still have some massive piles of snow and sidewalks are lined like hallways.
Look, only a few days above freezing and we can see road.
everything looks so very big out there, maybe there will be a spring.
I've never been so happy to see dirt and dead grass.
I've been hoping for the day when I could breeze across asphalt on rubber without the constant buzz of studs.  Intuitively accelerate across a road rather than search and gingerly navigate through the ice channels on a parking lot or a the rough patches on a trail.
It's heaven, that's what springtime is, rebirth, regeneration, a great day rolling forward.
Before rolling anywhere forward, read this rather inspiring story about the

Prime minister of the Netherlands who rides his bike to work everyday.
I like that the Iranians felt embarrassed to meet
a national leader who doesn't travel with an entourage.
