This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Rivendell MUSA Shorts

Well, I liked the MUSA (Made in USA) pants I bought from Rivendell last winter and wear them pretty frequently.   So I thought I would give their shorts a try.  I expected them to be a bit on the dorky looking side but was pleasantly surprised.  These look and fit like really comfortable shorts.

The only thing that would indicate they are bike specific is the  crotch. Rather than sewing in a diamond shaped gusset to eliminate the seams in the crotch, they made a complete panel out of the crotch,
that completely removes all seams from the sensitive nether regions.
Although they fit a little differently than the pants, it's not a bad thing.  The website said they are cut on the "full and long" side, so rather than ordering large, I ordered medium and they seem to fit
perfectly with a grease stained shirt.  After trimming a few more pounds off, I will probably even like 'em.
I really do like these, the pockets are very deep and useful, there is reflective patch on the back of each leg  and the fabric light and cool just like the pants.
I intend to order some more in the other colors (olive, grey) when they become available in my size.
