This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

I got really sick

...and since that so very rarely happens, I haven't been getting anything done except sitting around wallowing in self-pity.   It has however led me to wonder what the rest of the world does about this.  I can't remember the last time I actually caught a virus of any kind.  Usually the world goes on around my daily life without casting any disease my way.  I know people who suffer with this several times a year and wonder how their life would be different if they were more active.  In most cases that is the only difference.  I stay active by cycling everywhere that's practical, while they stay sedentary by driving everywhere.  I can't remember the last time I was sick, they live with a medicine cabinet full of remedies.  On the other hand, they take a cold like this in stride, while I wonder if I'm going to suffocate any given minute.  Life's full of little trade offs.
But I am feeling better and at least plan to get into the garage today and get some work done on a bike.

Keep pedaling!
