I'm waiting to see a tumbleweed come rolling down one of the busiest business corridors in the county. No kidding, Sprinkle Road is a five lane thoroughfare for a reason. There are miles of business parks and office buildings just west of the airport like any small city.
This is what mid-afternoon traffic looks like in the beginning of Covid-19. This makes a bike ride pleasant to say the least.
The lack of snow and ice is a great leap forward to spring and the abundant sunshine a break from the doom and gloom of the news cycle. There's something great about being a cyclist right now, we can continue to enjoy the meditative quality of a solo ride with minimal traffic. It looks like there are only a few safe recreations left in this period of de-socialized behavior. Cycling, running, golf and tennis are about all you can do and remain at the politically correct social distance. But, there is no place to stop for a beer or coffee after the trip.
Yeah streets are looking pretty empty here for a college town. We're planning a social ride without the post ride social hour. It may be anti climatic but still enjoyable to at least cruise around together in whatever capacity is available to us at present.
