This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.

Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.

Outside is not dangerous.

Isolation hasn't been horrible.  I'm trying  a schedule to keep me occupied.  I get up between 5 and 6 in the morning and spend until noon drinking coffee, reading and writing, something.  Being trapped inside is  a natural habitat for a bookworm.  Being forced into the situation is a resentful bunch of crap.  Staying away from social media and news is the biggest challenge of all.   I don't want my free time  filled with negativity.
Afternoons I alternate  between a solo bike ride or a light dumbbell workout.  Then, I might do something around the house.  One would expect that with all this time inside that the place would  be immaculate.  Yes, One would expect that.
The bike rides are nice these days.  There are few people using the streets and this area has a great deal of infrastructure developed already so I get a solo 30 mile ride in every other day without actually getting to the streets very much.
It's amazing how few people are out walking, running or cycling.  Outside is not dangerous, other people are.
A couple have gotten smart and taken advantage of the tennis courts.  It's one of the few activities we can do safely, the Governor should allow golf as well but so far has kept the courses closed.  These are all just things we will have to live with, probably longer than we expect.
