Hot, late start.

After the storms, the early morning had darkness enhanced by thick fog. I boot started late and rode through the heat. Highway 50 is not a bad ride, as highways go. There is ample, well paved shoulder and the hills are graded down a bit.  After an afternoon and morning , I was ready for the shade and lower troops of the Katy trail.

  1. This brings back memories my rides from 45 years ago, when I would sometimes ride a bit on Highway 50 on a 100 mile early season fixed gear ride from Raytown to Warrensburg and back. Not the most interesting road to be on, but it had less snow on it than other country roads during Jan/Feb.

    1. No, US50 is not an interesting ride, but it did help get some mileage in the rear view.
