The intermittent seasons

I would say this spring has been slow in coming, except that it has several times.  One of the great advantages to living in Michigan is the four seasons, and our ability to enjoy them year 'round, sometimes within a week.  Bike week wasfun, but started out cold, with gale force winds from The Lake driving temps below freezing on Mother's day, by the weekend it was August with temps in the high 80's, but no, summer wasn't over, we still have more spring to sprang or,... I don't know.   I know the confusing temperatures are driving everything into bloom at the same time and that is becoming beautiful.
The trees, bushes and flowers are coming together to create
a green garden that looks like an impressionist masterpiece.
The pollen is flying in some spots already, thick enough it looks like a late snow shower.
And this beautiful lady has been driven out early to find a home for her eggs.
She looks like she has plenty of experience so I let her on her way. She's the first I've seen this season, and it's odd to see her in the middle of the city. There will be thousands more to dot the roads and lawns in the month ahead.
Being the 12th bike friendliest state on the underbelly of Canada, we have been proactive in protecting cyclists from attacks by pregnant snappers.
We built a turtle fence!
