A minor epiphany

I was wandering around a Bike Forum on the interweb and ran across some people talking about kickstands.  They are kinda like helmets, everybody has a strong opinion on them.  The overwhelming consensus seems to be that they are a great convenience--when they work, but that ain't always.  When they don't work they are clumsy, dumb and heavy.  My epiphany had nothing to do with that;
somebody brought up the old "flickstands" that Rhode Gear used to make.
Somebody else suggested using a velcro strap to stabilize the front wheel and I actually thought,
just for a minute or two that is.  An idea crept into my noggin, how about the ankle straps I use?
What do you know?  They work!  If I don't need them on my pants, I wear them on my wrist
for extra visibility when signalling.
Unlike the flickstands, they work with fenders, and now that I have a place to store them,
maybe I won't lose the damn things.
