While I hear people bemoan the problems of developing infrastructure for cycling in other places, here in the quiet midwest of America we continue to inch forward.
Western Michigan University has installed a free bike repair stand on campus.
It's located at the new Office of Sustainability where hundreds of students ride, board or walk past on a daily basis.
Although it doesn't look like much
it has just about everything needed to tune up and adjust a bike.
Including an airpump, gauge,
instructions for using the pump,
an assortment of wrenches and drivers
as well as a simple seatpost support to get the wheels off the ground.
It's a great move forward and the local bike club president is proposing to buy a few to install in other locations around town. Another good reason to be a cyclist.
