Cycler's Rest

During my recent excursions I was fortunate to come across this lovely respite

 in the woods SW of Nashville.

It's called Cycler's Rest, and is a wonderful little cottage not far from the Nachez Trace Parkway.

 Owners Robin and Jeff built it as a mother-in-law suite, and do use it for visiting relatives during the winter months.  The rest of the year the cottage is available for rent and a more comfortable and inviting accommodation for  a cyclist cannot be found.

Jeff has a collection of vintage restored bikes around the place.

I especially like this Raleigh with a golf ball for a kickstand foot.

Robin has gone out of her way to collect and maintain decorative cycling

prints and accessories for the cottage

which make it even more appealing to the itinerant pedaler.

Jeff commutes to his "day job" by bike.  It's a 36 mile round trip each day

and he likes to "kick back and relax" on his day off

by riding a 118 mile route on his fixie!

They do allow camping on the premises and have 3 wonderfully friendly dogs 

who are gracious hosts.

It's a quaint and comfortable place to relax while exploring the area on two wheels.

The Nachez Trace is particularly beautiful and is slated to be a part of US Bike Route 35 which will run from  Mississippi to Sault Ste. Marie on the Canadian border in Michigan.

I'm looking forward to a return trip, but I ain't giving up my gears Jeff.
