Every so often the local businesses on the walking mall downtown throw together a show for local artists. It's a good way to spend a few hours on a Friday evening and there are hundreds of very nice pieces available for sale. This year they closed the street to any traffic and turned it over to the kids for chalk drawing.
The temperature was just right, no rain, it was a great night to take a ride and shop for paintings. I found a couple pieces I intend to buy and was having as much fun watching as the kids were drawing.
Byron developed a few admirers who were quick to ask me about him and compliment the build.
It was a good thing I accessorized him with the A'hearne flask holder, because the bars and restaurants were standing room only and that was the only chance I had for refreshment on the ride.
This is a shameless attempt to save the the most advanced civilization in
history from imminent self destruction by eliminating carbon emission,
dependence on foreign sources of fuel, obesity, hypertension and diabetes.
Cycling accomplishes all those things at once and helps us develop a better
understanding of ourselves, each other and our relationship to the cosmos.
Oh, horse puckey!
I like to ride bikes, have been doing it all my life.
The rest of that crap is just a fringe benefit,
and the blogosphere gives me a chance to share my interior
monologue with virtual rather than imaginary friends.
