The difference a few weeks can make.

Today we have a beautiful sunny day, clear skies and 39 degrees.  A few weeks ago I would have been wondering if I even wanted to ride over to the store.  Today I worked in an extra 5 miles just to enjoy the day.  .  I wasn't the only one making a trip to the mall
And it was really quite a treat to ride a little extra just for the pleasure of it.  The studs and heavy tread created a little more work than I like on the clear pavement and they weren't going to do me any good on the local MUP.
Nope , I'd need a Pugsley to get through that, not 32mm Nokians.  It's a little disappointing that just few weeks ago I was optimistic that the parks department would be making an effort to keep the trails clear.  They obviously get some foot traffic and would probably get more use if  they were cleared.  It's curious that a bankrupt city like Chicago will pay attention to their Lakeshore trail
while a solvent college town community with a healthy corporate presence (Pfizer) like Kalamazoo/Portage does not.  Why is the priority different?
