The leaves are down, the endless autumn is over

The days are really shorter, daylight savings has turned over and the light time for cycling has really changed.
At 7AM I get this colorful view just before sunset:
and it adds up to a lot of nighttime riding.  But this time of year the city scape and holiday lighting
provides a colorful supplement for the headlight:
the local parks become a festive wonderland
and even the riverside trails enjoy the holiday decor.
I stopped at the local brewpub and got the chance to talk to an engineer from Austin Tx. who was nervously watching the weather updates every 15 minutes.  A southerner paralyzed at the thought of an impending snowstorm.  I was one second too late with my camera to catch the dumbfounded look on his face when I told him I was waiting for new snow tires for my bicycle.   Damn, I love the look on people's faces this time of year.
