What I remember is that it is more downhill going toward the lake. The first time we ever rode it, we were pretty new to riding any kind of distance at all, so a 35-mile round trip seemed like a big deal to us. We didn't notice the downhill on the way to the lake and thought "wow, this distance is going to be a piece of cake!"
